About the event

This is an in-person event where parents raising teens gather, learn and contribute as we navigate the parenting journey while honoring our sense of self. We explore different options after high school for our teens, ensuring that we keep wellness and wellbeing as our priority at all times. Each session comes with a guide with action steps and resources.

ABOUT SONJA MONTIEL, MA

Sonja has served more than 22 years in the profession of college admissions, having extensive experience in the areas of freshman, transfer, and international admissions. She was an admissions officer for the University of California system, a director of college counseling at a private preparatory school in California, and an educational consultant representing students and families worldwide. Married for 25 years and a mother of two daughters ages 22 and 14, she founded College Confidence and cofounded The DH Effect with a mission to create trust and belonging within families. Sonja is also a contributor to AwareNow Magazine as the Ambassador of Education and a Positive Intelligence mental fitness coach.  Growing up as a soccer athlete, Sonja also coached youth teams for over 13 years embracing the philosophies that team sports bring - unity, belonging, strategy, joy and boundaries.
